Don’t lose your Medicaid!
Medicaid renewals are being mailed to families all across Kansas. If KanCare (aka Kansas Medicaid) doesn’t receive your completed packet, you could lose your Medicaid. Read below for more information.
Medicaid Renewals
What's Happening
During COVID-19, a Public Health Emergency (PHE) was declared and Medicaid renewals were stopped, meaning everyone with Kansas Medicaid could keep their Medicaid without completing the yearly renewal packet. Now that the PHE is ending, Kansas Medicaid will be sending out renewal packets for the first time in over two years.
If you don't return your completed renewal packet, your Medicaid will be canceled. Make sure your packet can find you!
What you need to do
If you or your family have Medicaid you need to do these 3 things:
- Update your address with KanCare by doing ONE of these three options.
- Visit kancare.ks.gov and click on the red chat bot: you will need either your social security number, case number, or Medicaid ID. Your Medicaid ID can be found on the front of your card.
- Call the number on the back of your Medicaid card or find your company's number here
- Call the KanCare Clearinghouse at 1-800-792-4884: choose your language, press 7, and then 2 to speak to a representative.
Keep on eye on your mailbox for the renewal packet that will look like this...
Complete the renewal packet and provide supporting documents if they ask for them then mail it or fax it back to the KanCare Clearinghouse.
If you need help with any of this please contact KAN staff by completing this form or calling 913-228-2475.
